Tiger Woods held his first press conference on Tuesday since a February car accident that caused the 15-time major champion to suffer significant leg and back injuries.

"I don't foresee this leg ever being what it used to be," Woods told reporters at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

"Clock's ticking. I'm getting older. I'm not getting any younger, so all that combined means that a full schedule and full practice schedule and the recovery that it would take to do that — no, I don't have any desire to do that,” he said.

"I've come off surgeries before,” he added. “I've won or I've come close to winning before, so I know the recipe for it. I just had to get to a point where I feel comfortable enough where I can do that again.”

"As far as playing at the Tour level, I don't know when that's going to happen," the golfer also said of his return to the sport.

When asked if he was in pain during the press conference, Woods replied with a prompt "yes."

After the car accident left him "immobile for three months," Woods said that it was a "milestone" to be able to go outside and feel the sun in a wheelchair. He added that his injuries were so significant that amputation was "on the table."

Earlier this month, Woods tweeted that he was "making progress" in his recovery, along with a video of him taking a swing on a golf course.

At the time of the accident, reports indicated that Woods’s vehicle crossed a median in the Los Angeles area. The vehicle went across two lanes before hitting a tree and rolling over on the driver's side.
