Samantha Ruth Prabhu, in her health podcast, spoke about the 'extremely difficult year' just before she got diagnosed with Myositis, an auto-immune condition. It was the year she announced separation from her actor-husband Naga Chaitanya. They dated for more than five years and were married for four years.
The 'Kushi' actor launched her health podcast series, which was uploaded to her YouTube channel. In the first episode of the series, Take 20, she spoke to Alkesh.

She said, "I remember specifically the year before I had this problem. It was an extremely difficult year for me. I specifically remember the day that I thought my friend/partner/manager Himank, and I were travelling back from Mumbai."
She further added, "And this was in June of the year before last, and I remember telling him that finally I feel calm. I haven’t felt a little relaxed and a little calm in a very, very long time. And I finally feel like I can breathe and I can go to sleep, and I can now wake up and focus on my work and be the best that I can be at work. And I woke up with this condition.”
In the podcast, Samantha and Alkesh talked about autoimmunity and what contributes to such conditions.
Samantha announced a break from work in 2022. She will be seen next in director Raj and DK's 'Citadel: India'. She will share screen with Varun Dhawan in the spy thriller series.
