Fans of Troye Sivan are already celebrating the imminent arrival of his new EP, and now they have a brand new music video to watch until it finally arrives.
On Thursday (July 16), Sivan unveiled his self-directed music video for his latest single, "Easy." Set in a sprawling modern mansion, the video shows a heartbroken Sivan reeling from what appears to be a breakup, sulking around the massive home with a pet rabbit in tow, looking for an explanation. "I’m in still in love, and I say that because/ I know how it seems, between you and me/ It hasn’t been easy, darlin’," he sings.
At one point in the video, Sivan takes a break to watch an '80s-inspired music video starring himself. Dressed in a David Bowie-esque costume complete with a bright red mop of hair, some white and yellow makeup and a beige patterned suit, the star performs his song on a neon-colored set, with a band made up of drag queens.
As the video draws to a close, Sivan succumbs to the pain of losing his love -- a mirror falls on top of him, leaving a slash in his forehead, and his body spontaneously bursts into flames. As he looks for redemption, the star dives into one of the many pools on his estate, extinguishing the flames while he sings, "This house is on fire/ Burning the tears right off my face/ What the hell did we do?/ Tell me we’ll make it through."
The single was released on Wednesday (July 15) along with the news that Sivan would be releasing a brand new EP, titled In My Dreams, on Aug. 21. Speaking about the EP in a statement, Sivan said that In My Dreams "explores an emotional roller-coaster period in my life when the feelings and thoughts were most shockingly fresh."
