A firefighter injured a leg during a California brush fire that burned more than 200 acres over the weekend.

The Tram Fire started at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday near the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, KESQ-TV. By Sunday, the blaze tore through 212 acres near the Palm Springs Visitor Center.

Crews from the Palm Springs Fire Department, the U.S. Forest Service and other agencies responded to the incident. Water-dropping helicopters and airplanes were deployed while firefighters worked on the ground to put out the flames.

A firefighter rolled an ankle in the blaze and was taken to the hospital. No details were given concerning how the injury happened or the firefighter's condition, My News LA added.

"It's been difficult to fight," Palm Springs Fire Capt. Nathan Gunkel told KESQ

The wildfire was 50 percent contained by early Sunday, and the flames were under control by late Sunday.
