CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The addition of Ronnie Harrison to the Browns’ defense has been vital to helping Joe Woods start to realize his vision. The Browns mostly focused their offseason assets on offense, but used a second-round pick on Grant Delpit. When they lost Delpit for the season, they had to scramble to find someone who could fill the multiple roles envisioned for the rookie, so they moved a fifth-round pick for Harrison.
It took time, but he was slowly working his way in as one of the key defenders on the roster. Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward are in a class by themselves, but Harrison, with his ball-hawking skills and his ability to play in the box and as a traditional safety, vaulted himself to just below them.
Now the Browns, already without Ward and just getting Garrett back this week, lose Harrison for 4-6 weeks, likely the rest of the regular season and, possibly, a playoff game or two. It’s not ideal.
Mary Kay Cabot, Ellis Williams and Dan Labbe talked about losing Harrison and what to expect from Garrett on Wednesday’s Orange and Brown Talk Podcast. Then, Terry Pluto talks with Dan about Harrison, the Jaguars win and the upcoming game against the Titans. You can listen using the player below or by clicking here.
