The Cardinals controlled things from the opening tip in a 72-34 final.
“Defense was in lockdown mode and we got out and pushed the tempo to wear down the Tigers,” head coach Wendy Kohler said.
The senior backcourt duo of Jaya Hatlestad and Mataya Hoelscher each had 17 points, and forward Lilly Horn added 11.
Alexandria heads to Sartell at 1 p.m. on Saturday for another section and CLC game.

Osakis (7-6, 5-2 Prairie Conference) held Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (3-8, 0-6 Prairie) to 29.4% shooting on Thursday and controlled things from start to finish in a 66-42 win.
“The girls played well. We were a bit slow early but were able to get into a good rhythm midway through the first half,” Osakis head coach Pat Kalpin said. “Offensively, we did a nice job of moving the ball and taking good shots. Defensively, we did a nice job of limiting them to one shot and rebounding. It was a fun game to get all the girls playing time to contribute to winning the game. Just an overall great game for the team tonight.”
Alexis Johanson
The Silverstreaks countered by shooting 43.6%, including hitting 9-of-18 threes. Alexis Johanson led 10 scorers for Osakis with 21 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting. Mara VanNyhuis added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
“Both Alexis Johanson and Mara VanNyhuis had great all-around games for us,” Kalpin said. “They both scored well, rebounded well and led the team in assists."
