LOGAN SQUARE — Sunday markets with vendors selling everything from ceramics to vinyl records are coming to Easy Does It this spring and summer.
The owner of the wine bar and bottle shop at 2354 N. Milwaukee Ave. is partnering with the founder of the market series SAUCED on the events, which will be held on the bar’s patio, according to a news release.
The first Easy Does It market is set for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 2. The first hour will be dedicated to shopping, as the bar opens at noon. The markets are for people ages 21 and up. More dates will be released in May.
SAUCED founder Sarah Freeman said they’ll have COVID-19 safety protocols to keep shoppers and bar patrons safe. The protocols include capacity limits and contact-less drink ordering. Masks will be required.
The Easy Does It markets come after a difficult year, Freeman said. With the pandemic, all SAUCED markets had to be put on hold in 2020.
Freeman launched SAUCED in 2015 at Emporium Logan Square and since then has thrown markets at venues across the city, from House of Vans in the West Loop to the Chicago Athletic Association Downtown.
“There are lots of firsts with this series — the first SAUCED to be held outside and during the day — but I live in Logan Square and know several vendors do, too. In an extremely cheesy way, bringing the market back here feels like coming home,” she said in an email.
Easy Does It replaced late-night music venue and bar East Room last summer.
The May 2 market vendor list is as follows, but is subject to change:
