Crews put out 'difficult' titanium machinery fire in Middle River - CBS News

BALTIMORE -- Firefighters and hazmat crews have contained a fire an old conducting station in Middle River, the Baltimore County Fire Department said. 

Today #BCoFD fire and hazmat crews successfully managed a difficult fire at the defunct CP Crane generating station in #MiddleRiver, 1000 blk Carroll Island Rd. The fire involved titanium machinery. Titanium machinery at the now-defunct CP Crane generating station caught fire. Officials said titanium burns at "very high temps" and cannot be extinguished with water.

Crews were on the scene at the 1000 block of Carroll Island Road from morning to afternoon Tuesday, officials said. 

No injuries have been reported.
