Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Difficulty Guide - GameRant

simpanta.blogspot.com

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the latest entry in Monolith Soft's epic JRPG series. For those going into this third numbered title without any previous Xenoblade experience might feel overwhelmed with all there is to see and do. Luckily, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has three different difficulty modes that can be chosen at the start of the game, and this guide will go over the difference between each one and whether it can be changed during the course of Noah's adventure.

All Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Difficulty Settings

Before jumping into the journey, players will be given three options for the difficulty. It's worth pointing out that it doesn't really matter which difficulty setting players choose, as long as it's something they're comfortable with. Since the Switch doesn't have its own achievement or Trophy system yet, there's no special prize for beating the game on hard mode or anything like that.

The three modes are as follows:

  • Easy - For those that want an easier time during combat, preferring to focus on progressing the story.
  • Normal - For those that want moderately-difficult, generously-balanced combat.
  • Hard - For those who enjoy challenging themselves with fairly difficult combat.

Can You Change Difficulty in Xenoblade Chronicles 3?

Luckily, if a Xenoblade player decides to go with Hard mode and then realizes it may be too difficult for them, they can change the difficulty at any time by going into the menu.

How to Change Difficulty

To actually go about changing the difficulty, players will need to wait until they're in control of Noah and his party members, Lanz, Mwamba, and Eunie. Press X to enter the main menu screen, and then scroll down to System. From there, go to Options, Game, and then the Difficulty toggle can be found and altered. Just make sure to save the newly changed settings before quitting out the menu, or else the changes won't be saved.

Players should choose the difficulty that fits with their play style. If someone likes to really sink their teeth into RPGs and wants a good challenge to overcome, the hard mode might be best. But, for someone new to JRPGs or Xenoblade in general, easy mode is a great choice. Either way, players will be able to fine-tune their experience whenever they want by heading into the menu.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
