Throughout the region public health officials have said testing remains a big challenge.
While Governor Andrew Cuomo has said that testing levels are rising across the state – they aren’t rising fast enough for some communities.
The Auburn Citizen reports that Cayuga County is one of those places. They say around 9 people per thousand are being tested at the moment, due to a lack of PPE and cotton swabs.
The Governor set a goal of 30 people per thousand.
Over the weekend, Governor Cuomo announced a buying consortium to help purchasing equipment and supplies. Several states are now involved in that process.
