The New Orleans Saints schedule was released for the 2022 season and it should be a fun ride for the black and gold as we enter year 1 of the Dennis Allen era.
With the schedule now public knowledge, let’s take a look at the four most difficult games for the Saints as they try to get back into the playoffs.
4. Week 7 @ Cardinals (TNF)
If this were a typical Sunday afternoon game, I’m not sure that it’d have made the cut on this list. No offense to Kyler Murray, J.J. Watt, and the rest of the Cardinals clan — They’re a good team but tend to be wildly inconsistent.
The reason Arizona made the cut is that they’re hosting the Saints on Thursday Night Football in Week 7. It’s really difficult for the road team on those Thursday night games because not only are they playing on short rest, but they have to travel as well. The home team doesn’t have to worry about traveling, so they have the edge in these matchups.
While the Saints and Cardinals match up well, I don’t like the fact that the Saints play in London in Week 4 and then play two more games before this short week against the Birds. It’s one of the toughest games on the schedule but for different reasons than the rest.
