The Commodores are coming to Springfield.
The famous Motown group will perform their most famous ballads including hits like “Three Times a Lady” and “Too Hot ta Trot.”
The band will perform in front of fans inside the ARIA Ballroom at the MGM Springfield on Sunday, May 31 at 8 p.m.
The Commodores’ Walter “Clyde” Orange, James Dean “JD” Nicholas and William “WAK” King influenced artists with their music across genres.
Up until 1982, Lionel Richie performed in the band before going on to launch his solo career. In the late ‘70s, ballads like “Easy,” “Still” and “Three Times a Lady,” earned the group international recognition.
In 1968, the band formed while all the members were in college at Tuskeegee Institute and later signed with the record label Motown Polydor. They have sold 75 Million albums worldwide with seven number-one singles, five number-one albums and an array of music awards.
Tickets start at $45 and go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at Ticketmaster and the MGM Springfield website.
M life Rewards loyalty members will receive access to a pre-sale Mar. 4 from 10 a.m. to Mar. 5 at 10 p.m.
