Nick Nurse opened up on whether it is difficult to coach the superstars of the NBA.
In his debut season as head coach in the NBA, Nurse coached one of the best players in the league, Kawhi Leonard.
“On the first practice, you are not sure you have their focus and attention 100%. But, when you lay out a plan, you see they want to be coached, they want a plan.
They want you to put them in a position to succeed. If you do that, you can gain some respect and then start developing some relationships,” Nurse told Fran Fraschilla during his appearance on the World of Basketball podcast.
Nurse and Leonard helped the Toronto Raptors win the 2019 NBA championship.
