Colts quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to start Sunday against the Titans after suffering a pair of ankle sprains in Week 2 against the Rams. But that doesn't mean team owner Jim Irsay reserved himself from disclosing personal information about his signal-caller.
In an interview recorded by Chris Hagan of Indianapolis TV station WXIN, Irsay confirmed suspicions that Wentz is not vaccinated against COVID-19, which he said makes it "difficult" to depend on him.
Wentz, who was traded to the Colts from the Eagles last March, was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list in late August and was unclear in an interview with The Athletic about his vaccination status, saying it was a "personal decision."
"They have freedom of choice and we understand that," Irsay said.

Wentz started each of Indianapolis' first two games after undergoing foot surgery in early August. He completed 45 of 69 passes for 498 yards and three touchdowns to one interception. He also recorded nine rushes for 60 yards. Irsay said Wentz wants to play Sunday but would likely be a game-time decision.
"I know how hard he's worked, I know he's respected in the locker room and all those sorts of things," Irsay said. "But he has to stay healthy."
The Athletic reported on Sunday that Wentz will start Sunday's game vs. the Titans.

Wentz played five seasons for the Eagles. He was named second-team All-Pro in 2017 after recording 3,296 passing yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also suffered an ACL and LCL tear in December of that season.
