In response to the COVID-19 pandemic persistence, the WVU Faculty and Staff Assistance Program is offering both confidential telehealth and urgent in-person appointments to all WVU benefits-eligible employees, dependents and retired employees.
FSAP also has expanded its hours of operation to offer evening appointments to help faculty and staff fit counseling into their busy schedules and access services from their own homes via HIPAA-compliant Zoom.
Currently, an employee who urgently needs an appointment can be scheduled within 24-48 hours and non-urgent appointments typically can be scheduled within a week.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed almost all aspects of our daily lives. The lack of predictability in our personal, work and school environments can take a toll on our personal well-being and many people are dealing with pandemic-related compounding losses.
FSAP provides employees with supportive resources related to managing stress, anxiety, burnout and work-life balance. The Employee Assistance Professionals Associations recently posted an article through Fast Company titled “Why employees returning to the office may show signs of PTSD.”
FSAP does not require the employee to use their insurance benefits. Each employee (and her/his/their dependents) are eligible for three free sessions a year with an experienced, licensed behavioral health clinician. FSAP can provide assessments, counseling, referrals and follow-up services for employees who are struggling or who just might need a little support to get through this difficult time.
