The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans are flying high Monday after the team’s 32-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

That win, combined with Week 1 losses by the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Football Team, puts the Eagles in first place in the NFC East.

And according to the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, the Eagles are set up to remain atop the standings, based on the team’s regular-season schedule heading into the season.

The easiest schedule belongs to the Eagles, by a significant margin (.430 compared with .452 for the next team), thanks to playing in such a lousy division last year. They are followed by the Cowboys, Falcons, Buccaneers, and Dolphins. The Eagles only have four games against .500 teams, and the Cowboys and Eagles only have five games against playoff teams.

The Eagles return to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday for their home opener against the 49ers.

San Francisco is coming off a Week 1 win against the Detroit Lions, with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo throwing for 314 yards and one touchdown. The final score of the game was 41-33, which should sound quite familiar to Eagles fans.
