As excitement builds ahead of the Nov. 19 release of 30, Adele’s “Someone Like You” and “Rolling In The Deep” re-enter the chart at No. 40 and 43, respectively, while her three previous albums all enjoy sales spikes.
Adele’s latest leads a Top 5 that’s rounded out by Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix” (holding at No. 2 via Warner/Universal), The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” (down 1-3 via Columbia/Sony), and a pair of Ed Sheeran tracks, “Bad Habits” (down 3-4 via Atlantic/Warner) and “Shivers” (down 4-5 via Warner), respectively.
Meanwhile, Coldplay secure a seventh ARIA albums chart crown with Music Of The Spheres (Parlophone/Warner), as it rolls to No. 1 on debut.
Coldplay hold off The Beatles' classic final album Let It Be (USM/Universal), which roars to No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart following the release of its 50th anniversary edition.
With its solid start, Let It Be continues the streak of Beatles Top 10s, powered by 50th anniversary cuts, that has included Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (No. 5 in June 2017), The Beatles (aka The White Album, opening at No. 10 in November 2018) and Abbey Road (No. 2 in October 2019).
Let It Be is Australia’s best-selling album on wax this week.
Meanwhile, Indigenous rapper Baker Boy snags No. 3 with his debut full-length, Gela (Island/Universal). Baker Boy, the so-called Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land, is already a star in his homeland, where he has racked up six ARIA Award nominations, multiple gold certifications, an Order of Australia medal and the 2019 Young Australian of the Year award.
Finally, with Adele cleaning up on the singles chart, her three LPs make gains on the albums survey. Her most recent record, 2015’s 25 (XL/Inertia), rises 18-8; 21 (from 2011) is up 24-11; and her debut 19 (from 2008) reenters the chart at No. 41.
